How can I get involved with IPIHD?

There are two ways that healthcare innovators can become involved in IPIHD. Both are entirely free to you.

1. Community.  Stay connected as part of the IPIHD Community. You will receive a monthly newsletter with news about innovation, global health, and IPIHD initiatives, as well as occasional opportunities for innovators and news about special events. As a part of the community, you will also have the opportunity to submit articles for consideration in the newsletter or IPIHD blog.  More importantly, active participants are more likely to be considered for access to the Network. 2. Network.  Apply to join a select group of leading global healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs. If you have an established innovative healthcare practice, consider joining at the Network level.The Network is for select innovators who seek involvement and resources beyond the Community level. What are benefits of the IPIHD Network?

In addition to the social good of increasing access to healthcare globally, there are several other benefits to becoming an IPIHD Network collaborator. Each of these benefits corresponds to IPIHD's four core programs.

  • Participation in webinars taught by field experts on topics ranging from how to pitch to investors to government partnerships

Showcase work for a global audience and receive recognition for achieving goals.

• Opportunity to present at or attend global events and conferences
• Chance to get work highlighted in annual reports, exclusive innovator profiles, press releases, social media, videos, and be featured in the IPIHD newsletter (circulated among industry leaders, investors, and other innovators)

2. Business and Organization

Gain collaboration opportunities with seasoned executives.

IPIHD Network innovators who participate and engage with other participants and have a business model in line with IPIHD's vision above are most likely to be selected to participate in business collaboration projects.

As part of business collaboration projects, select innovators are paired with business executives and senior leaders from organizations supporting IPIHD. These projects focus on particular challenges innovators face in growing their business, from implementing technology for paper-free records to training staff when expanding to multiple locations, and participating innovators receive tailored individualized attention – all for free – from executives with the expertise in the needed area.

 

 3. Investment and Funding

Learn about and prepare for potential funding opportunities.

IPIHD does not provide funding for innovators. However, through this program, IPIHD strives to:

• • Create connections between innovators and potential funders/investors
  • Prepare innovators to bring their growth plans to investors and funders for support

4.  Knowledge and Research

Discover current trends and the latest knowledge in healthcare innovation.

Our innovators have found that sharing best practices among the Network is highly valuable. IPIHD facilitates this by capturing and disseminating lessons throughout the Network. IPIHD also generates structured and relevant knowledge to the wider global health community through case studies, blogs, policy briefs, white papers, and manuscripts. This work is often based on research conducted with innovators within the Network. Innovators can use this knowledge to strengthen their own innovation and business model.

Help influence policy and regulatory leaders.

In addition to studying healthcare innovations, IPIHD also studies the context in which innovation occurs, in order to systematically synthesize and report on enablers and barriers within the ecosystem. The ecosystem includes the policy and regulatory framework and IPIHD develops knowledge products to engage stakeholders who can actively support the spread of healthcare innovation by facilitating policy and regulatory change.

All of these benefits are free to innovators in the IPIHD Network because IPIHD believes in facilitating the good work of healthcare innovators around the world for the greater global good.

 

 

Should I apply for the IPIHD Network?

There are five core criteria the IPIHD considers upon selecting innovators for the Network. The IPIHD Network is comprised of innovators who are:

Already up and running

Sustainable:

Business is built on sustainable principles (rather than solely donor-based)

Innovative:

New and disruptive way of providing healthcare, cuts costs to patients and providers, standardizes operating procedures, provides access where there was minimal access, improves patient safety and health outcomes

Growth as Business Goal:

Growth potential is possible and scaling and replicating the business model is a goal

Shared Vision: 

Goals with IPIHD include IPIHD's core approach (desire for collaboration and sharing best practices)

 

In addition to the above, innovators who provide care directly for patients, demonstrate teamwork, bring benefit to the existing Network, and closely track their impact are more likely to receive strong consideration.

What is expected of IPIHD innovators?

In order to optimize your experience as a part of the Network, IPIHD expects that you will:

• Engage online. Be an active user of IPIHD Access by keeping an updated profile, posting best practices, and connecting with other participants.
• Contribute to the Network. Participate in Network events, such as webinars and conferences that are relevant to your work. Provide help to others, and you will receive help as well. Detail specifically what you are seeking, and seek out others who need your expertise.
• Share and report. Help IPIHD create your innovator profile, provide a 5-minute video "annual report" of activities, track your goals throughout the year and share the results with IPIHD, report your best practices, and share success stories and lessons learned with the Network.
• Engage with IPIHD. We are here for you! Let us know when you have a suggestion to better serve you as a Network collaborator or get you on track for a business collaboration project. Share your goals and reach out to the IPIHD team.

  

How can I apply, and what is the application process?

In order to be considered for Network engagement, innovators must complete the Innovator Application. The application will ask you more about your business, your goals, and what you wish to gain from collaborating with IPIHD. Completing the application usually takes approximately 30 minutes. In short, here are the steps:

1. Fill out the-- you will have the opportunity to review the legal terms and conditions;
2. Twice per year, once in June and again in November, IPIHD leadership will review the application against the criteria above;
3. IPIHD will contact you to set up a convenient time to discuss your application if further information is required;
4. If you are selected for Network engagement, IPIHD will send you a Starter Kit and invite you to register for IPIHD Access;
5. If you are not selected, you will be notified and we hope you still will be an active participant in the IPIHD Community.
